During the 2nd cycle of CALLISTO, the group worked closely with EAG III and EAG V to identify the fifteen most important pathogens and contribute in finding additional data to be used for the preliminary risk assessment performed by EAG VI. The group focused on the analysis of bacterial infections associated with companion animals. EAG IV scored and selected zoonotic pathogens which associated diseases are all endemic in Europe. To develop the risk assessment, bacterial pathogens were scored according to human health risks and their possible impact on animal production.
