EAG II was expected to identify existing categories of policy makers and policy actions and make catalogue of existing policy actions related to the health of companion animals underlying, when possible, effectiveness of policy actions and reasons for being (not-) effective.

During the first year of activity, EAG II implemented a questionnaire survey addressed to National Authorities, veterinary and stakeholders organisations. The survey asked for actions aimed at investigating the prevention of the spread of diseases by companion animals to people and food producing animals.
