EAG VII focused on sociology and welfare aspects concerning the relationship between companion animals and humans. The group defined some of the social reasons for keeping companion animals as well as human health aspects related to this kind of relationship.

EAG VII investigated also the availability of information on risk of zoonoses for dogs, cats and horses owners.
