CALLISTO informs that on 7 April 2014, in Brussels (Belgium), the FVE in collaboration with CPME (Standing Committee of European Doctors) will organize a conference titled Ensuring Health and Sustainability in Europe: Doctors and Veterinarians emphasize "prevention is better than cure".

CALLISTO informs that on 6 November, 2013 the OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health) and WSAVA (World Small Animal Veterinary Association) met in Paris to discuss about strategies to manage and eradicate canine rabies. The Symposium, entitled 'One Health: Rabies and Other Disease Risks from Free-Roaming Dogs' was the occasion to compare approaches and perspectives on the issue and produce an OIE-WSAVA joint statement setting course of actions required to progress in control of rabies.

The 31st edition of the World Veterinary Congress took place in Prague on 17-20 September 2013. The event favored the exchange of ideas and knowledge among international participants on a wide range of topics concerning for example veterinary medicine, food hygiene, epidemiology and animal welfare.

CALLISTO was presented in the framework of the World Veterinary Congress and a specific poster was inserted in the session held on 18th September 2013.

CALLISTO is happy to inform that the WSAVA One Health Committee and the World Organisation for Animal Health organise the symposium “ONE HEALTH: Rabies and Other Disease Risks from Free-Roaming Dogs”. The event will take place on 5-6 November 2013 in Paris, France.

CALLISTO project was briefly presented during the OIE Seminar for National Focal Point for Animal Welfare in the European Region, held in Teramo, on 5-7 March 2013, at the premises of the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV) - Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale”.

On this occasion, delegates from 41 countries and international organisations representatives were made aware of CALLISTO mission and information material was distributed among the attendees.

The first CALLISTO Conference takes place in Brussels on 24-26 October 2012 with the aim to discuss important conclusions of project cycle n. 1. The first cycle was dedicated to the overview of the current situation and knowledge gaps on companion animals zoonoses.

CALLISTO research project was presented in the “WHO'S WHO IN ANIMAL WELFARE - 1ST FAO GLOBAL MULTI-STAKEHOLDERS FORUM ON ANIMAL WELFARE”. The event took place in Brussels, Belgium, on March 1-2, 2012.

The forum had the main objective to promote sharing of ideas, practices and innovative solutions to complex animal welfare challenges; this was also the opportunity to present organizations involved in the promotion of animal welfare worldwide.

CALLISTO Information materials were shared with visitors and interested stakeholders.
